Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about purchasing gift certificates
What are your hours of operation?We are open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, Thursday from 9 am to 6 pm, Saturday 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday 10 am to 5 pm Top Where exactly are you located? Is there parking available?We are located in the village of Woodmere on the corner of Broadway and Irving. We are located directly across the street from Southwest Fitness and down the block from New York Sports Club. Parking is available on the public street or in one of three municipal parking lots which are of no cost to you. What are the other services available in or near Capellini Salon and Day Spa ?TO Capellini Salon & Day Spa sells some of the finest products at all times. Within our facility is Dorianne Cosmetics and Ego Trip for your needs. Top What should I bring with me when I visit the Day Spa?If you are the recipient of a gift certificate, please bring the certificate with you and present it to our Spa Director when you arrive. If Massage Therapy - is on your itinerary, please be advised that you may disrobe to your level of comfort. You may wish to bring your swimsuit along but it is not required or needed. We provide other amenities you might require, including robes, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, cotton swabs, hair dryers, and disposable slippers. If you prefer your own footwear, please bring along a pair of slippers or thongs. If a is Hair Design is not on your itinerary, you’ll want to bring your hairbrush. Contact lens wearers should bring a storage case and solution for their lenses, as lenses should be removed for most Facials and Eye Treatments. You’ll also want to bring along any other personal toiletries you may require. If you’d care to leave a gratuity for your service person, you’ll want to bring along the necessary amount of cash. (Gratuities are not included in our prices and usually range from 15-20% of your total services.) As a courtesy to other spa clients, we ask that you turn off your cell phones and pagers when relaxing at the spa. We thank you for your understanding and co-operation. Top Is there storage for my valuables?We ask that you check valuable clothing at the coat check on the main floor. We advise that you leave extremely valuable items at home. It is necessary to remove earrings and necklaces before your facial, and all jewelry before your massage. Please be sure to store these items in your handbag or clothing pocket rather than removing them in the treatment room so that there is no danger that they will be forgotten. We regret that the spa is not responsible for lost items. Top Cancellations and re-scheduling my appointment?We require 24 hours cancellation notice on individual services. Please understand if we do not receive a 24 hours cancellation notice you will be charged 50% of the service price. We require 48 hours cancellation notice on packages. Please understand that if we do not receive a 48 hours cancellation notice, you will be charged 50% of the package price. Top What happens if I am late for my appointment?Please understand that if you are late for your appointment, it will be necessary to shorten or re-schedule your service time so as not to delay service for the next client. Top How far in advance should I book my appointment ?If you would like to schedule a multi-service package on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, we recommend you call us 4 to 6 weeks in advance. For individual services on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, 2 to 3 weeks notice should guarantee your choice of time. For any services Monday to Thursday, 1 to 2 weeks notice is sufficient. However, don’t hesitate to try us that day or that week in the event we might have an opening due to a cancellation or other reason. We do accept a waiting list and will advise you if a time slot becomes available. Please note that we can’t always accommodate last minute changes to your appointment. If you wish to add or change the service(s) you are scheduled for, please give us as much notice as possible. Also, please have your credit card number ready in order to reserve your booking, as well as your gift certificate number. Top How far in advance should I arrive before my appointment?Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out necessary paperwork and unwind and relax prior to your appointment(s). Top Do you have services available for men?Men are most welcome to book any service available at Capellini Salon and Day Spa. All of our packages are available to men, minus makeup application, of course. Top What forms of payment do you accept ?Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are gladly accepted. Cash is always accepted too. We also accept Capellini Salon & Day Spa Gift Cards and SpaFinder Gift Certificates as well. Gratuities must be given in cash and can not added to your credit card bill. No cash can be returned to you for gratuities. Top Do Gift Certificates expire?Unfortunately, Capellini Salon and Day Spa Gift Certificates or Gift Cards expire in full one year from their date of issue. Top Can I substitute a service in my package?Unfortunately, we cannot substitute services within a package. If you would prefer alternate services, you are welcome to use your package for its dollar value and choose your services from our Spa Menu at the listed prices. Be advised that you will lose any complimentary service such as a Spa Lunch or complimentary Makeup Application. Top If I'm in a hurry, can I combine my services?Unfortunately, due to coordination complications, space limitations and personnel resources this is rarely possible, Top Do all packages include a lunch? Can I order lunch ?Not all packages include a lunch. However, if your package does include a lunch, you may choose from our Lite Spa Menu ( Kosher is available upon request ) Spa Menu. You are welcome to request a Lite Spa lunch for an additional charge. Top What do I wear for my massage?We will ask you to disrobe to your comfort level, remove all jewelry, and put on a spa robe before your massage. Your NYS licensed Massage Therapist will leave you in privacy for a few moments in the massage room to remove your robe, lie down on the massage table, and cover yourself with a towel and/or sheet. The towel and/or sheet will discreetly cover you throughout your massage. Top Do you offer Waxing services too ?Capellinis Salon and Day Spa offers a full range of waxing services for men and women. We ulitilize several different types of waxes including gentle waxes and strip free wax. Top Before which spa services should I shower?We ask that you shower prior to your arrival or upon arriving if you have been working all day. You should shower before all body treatments including massage. Certain treatments you may wish to shower afterwards too. Our completely private, individual showers are conveniently located in Day Spa area. Top Can we sit together for our manicure and pedicure?When you call to make your appointment, please feel free to ask for particular seating arrangements. Although we will make every effort to accommodate this request, please understand that is not always possible; space and scheduling limitations can sometimes restrict seating flexibility. Top I have artificial nails. Can I still have a manicure?Absolutely! A manicure improves all parts of the hand, not just the nails. We use non-acetone polish remover which doesn’t harm artificial nails. Top How long should my hair be for waxing to be effective?For best results, hair should be 1/8 to 1/4 inches long, depending on the thickness of the hair. Top Are there any spa services I should not receive due to certain health conditions?Yes. There are some medical conditions which certain spa treatments may aggravate. It is always advisable to consult with your personal physician first. Some examples of conditions which might make certain treatments unadvisable are : pregnancy ( high risk or first trimester ), circulatory disorders such as hypertension or any heart ailment. Please complete your Spa Health Form carefully so that we can safely make recommendations as to your suitability for these treatments. If you are experiencing any contagious condition or contagious foot ailments, such as plantar warts or a fungal nail ailment, please postpone your pedicure or manicure until the ailment has been cleared up. Top Do you have a smoking area?Please note that Capellini Salon and Day Spa is a smoke-free and drug-free environment. If you must smoke it has to be done outside. Top If I would like to leave a gratuity for my service person, how do I do so?Small manilla gratuity envelopes are displayed at front desk of the Salon and the Day Spa . Simply write out who it is "To" and "From" on the envelope and we will make sure your service person receives your gratuity. This is greatly appreciated and can be done upon checking out. Top Do you offer group rates?Yes. We provide special discounts to groups of 10 or more, booked Monday to Thursday. For corporate incentive and special events packages, The Capellini Salon and Day Spa is the perfect place to combine a productive meeting with a de-stressing Spa service. Top Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about purchasing gift certificatesI'd like to order gift certificates to be delivered to several different recipients at different addresses. How to I do this?Please let us know and we can accomodate your requests. Top I'd like the recipient to be able to pick up the Gift Certificate at the Spa. How do I do this?Just select Hold at Desk as the shipping method, and use your own address as the 'shipping address'. We will hold the Gift Certificate at the desk under the Purchaser's name. Top New1?ssss. How do taxes apply to dollar amount gift certificates?NYS applicable taxes apply to all products purchased. Top Can I get change from a Gift Certificate ?Regrettably no. If a balance remains on the gift certificate it may be used to purchase salon/spa product or saved for another service within one year of the original gift certificate issue date. No cash refunds.
